Matt Taylor breeds Barred, Columbian and Buff Wyandotte Bantams.

Based on the border of Surrey and West Sussex.

Matt has been keeping and breeding chickens for about eight years now, all because his cat caught a baby magpie and he then reared up the chick, taught it how to fly and everything. That's what triggered his interest and hobby in birds. Matt then acquired from a friend a Barred Wyandotte cockerel and a pair of Light Sussex.

Matt now shows his birds winning Best Juvenile in his class with a Barred Wyandotte cockerel at Surrey Poultry Show, he then won some 2nds and 3rds with his Light Sussex. At his 4th show Matt won Best Sussex with his Light Sussex hen at Surry Poultry Show.

The Barreds Matt has now arent from his old strain he had to move into the city for 4-5 month so gave them away so the birds now are from a new strain. Barreds are Matt's main variety because they were his first breed (apart from the light sussex), he feels they are the breed he knows most about from experence anyway. the stock he has now aquired to are a Cock bird and a hen from a friend and 5 pullets and a cockerel from Kerry Wilson.

Matt's Buffs are abit newer to him, he has kept a few before but never really got into them like now, he got his Buffs from Kerry Wilson, very good birds got some work to do on my cockerel though but wil be able to breed that out.
